Auto Body Repair |

For the Certificate in Auto Body Repair, the student must complete a minimum of
48 credit hours --36 in technical courses, 12 in general education courses --
all of which must be approved by the advisor. Required courses, may vary to
provide options and to meet student needs. Admission Requirement: Student must
be age 16 or older. |
Automotive Mechanics Technology |

For the certificate in Automotive Mechanics Technology, the student must
complete a minimum of 60 credit hours --48 in technical courses and 12 in
general education courses -- all of which must be approved by the advisor

Cosmetology |

Beyond meeting the usual GSCC admission requirements, a person wishing to enter
the Cosmetology program must also provide a health certificate with the results
of a skin test no more than one year old, a requirement of the Alabama
State Board of Cosmetology. For the Certificate in Cosmetology, the student
must complete a minimum of 51 credit hours -- 39 in technical courses and 12 in
general education courses -- all of which must be approved by the advisor.
Required courses may vary to provide options or to meet student needs. Students
who have completed this program and who have completed at least the tenth
(10th) grade of high school are qualified to take the State Board examination
for licensure as cosmetologists, which may be taken as many as three
times. More than 90% of the GSCC program graduates who take this examination
pass it. |

of 76 credit hours --54 in technical courses and 22 in general education and
other courses-- all of which must be approved by the Program Director. Required
technical courses may vary to provide options and to meet student needs. This
program has special admission, readmission, selection, notification,
progression, and graduation requirements and/or procedures. |
Small Engine Repair |

requirement: High School diploma or GED. |
