Welcome to Gadsden State Community College’s Nursing Education Program website. We are excited to share with you about our Associate Degree in Registered Nursing and our Certificate program in Practical Nursing. Our faculty and staff are committed to quality training and education for students desiring to become part of the healthcare community. Nursing continues to be at the forefront of our nation’s health care providers and remains a top career in our nation’s job market. A career in nursing is an exciting and challenging adventure that provides many rewards.
Established in 1967, Gadsden State Community College’s Nursing Education Program has earned a reputation for placing successful nurse graduates throughout our community, state, and nation. Our academic and nursing programs offer outstanding faculty, state-of -the-art equipment, and comprehensive clinical sites and resources. Our four nursing campuses are located in the northeast Alabama counties of Etowah, Cherokee, and Calhoun and utilize a multitude of health care resources to provide our students a variety of comprehensive and rich opportunities. We strive to maintain and promote working partnerships within our communities and surrounding areas.
Gadsden State offers progression pathways to students wishing to continue their nursing education by partnering with baccalaureate and master’s nursing programs. We serve a unique student population that spans new high school graduates to senior citizens pursuing a lifelong dream. Our faculty partner with students to obtain the necessary technical skills and clinical reasoning to provide safe and effective care to patients throughout their lifespan and to develop the caring and compassionate attributes of nursing.
