Welcome to the Gadsden State Community College Nursing Assistant Program website.
This website is designed to offer information regarding the program. Nursing Assistants are vital members of the health care team, assisting to meet patient needs. This program is designed to meet the growing needs of our community’s health care system. Graduates of this two semester short term certificate program become Certified Nursing Assistants to work in most all areas of health care. This certification allows the graduates to work in Long Term Care, Acute Care, clinics, doctor’s offices, home health, hospice and laboratories. In the second semester students complete Phlebotomy course and are eligible to become certified Phlebotomists.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Admission to the college
- Application to the Nursing Assistant Program
- A score of 65 or above on the reading area of the Compass test
- A clear background check
A grade of 75 or higher must be maintained in all classes in order to successfully complete the program and be eligible to be certified.
