Gadsden State Community College Names Cardinal Mascot
For years Gadsden State has sported a bright red cardinal as the mascot and referred to
this fine feathered friend as “the cardinal.” A recommendation was made during a brainstorming session
of the public relations department and the marketing committee to give this mascot a permanent name.

Cardinal Connections Sponsors Bird Inc.
Eighth grade students at two of Gadsden’s middle schools will get a close-up look at
careers in the technical fields on Thursday, when they attend a program known nationally as Bird, Inc.,
under the direction of John Cranston, a former rocket scientist from Huntsville.

Gadsden banker Wallace Montgomery has been named recipient of the Distinguished Service

MLK Health Fair on Monday
The 10th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Initiative Health Fair is scheduled for Monday, January
21, 8:00 a.m. until noon at the East Broad Campus of Gadsden State Community College. Last year more than
250 persons attended and took advantage of the various services.
