Miss Gadsden State 2010

Chasity Doster, Attalla, was crowned the new Miss Gadsden State Community College 2010. She received a tuition scholarship to Gadsden State Community College, a cash scholarship of $400 and numerous other prizes. She was crowned by Anna Barrett, Miss Gadsden State Community College 2009.

Dr. Martha Lavender Appointed to Alabama Board of Nursing

Gadsden, Ala.-Dr. Martha Lavender, RN, MSN, DSN, has been named to the Alabama Board of Nursing. Lavender, assistant to the president of Gadsden State Community College for Cherokee County Operations, was appointed to serve a four-year term as one of three nursing education representatives by Governor Bob Riley.

REPRESENTATIVE JACK PAGE NAMED VETERAN OF THE YEAR

Gadsden, Ala.-Alabama State Representative Jack Page is the recipient of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc. Alabama Council Veteran of the Year Award for 2009. He served in the Vietnam War as a member of the United State Marine Corps, and is a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Marine Corps League.

‘A TUNA CHRISTMAS’ AUDITIONS

Auditions for the Gadsden State Community College production of “A Tuna Christmas” will be held in Wallace Hall Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24, at 6 p.m. Audition material will be provided. The auditions are open to the public. The performance will be held at Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center with three shows scheduled for December 18-20.
