Gadsden, Ala.–Gadsden State Community College is working to put heart health in focus. Heart Focus is a cardiac wellness program that is centered toward individuals who have been diagnosed with heart disease or have undergone a heart procedure. The program, which is offered by Gadsden State as a Continuing Education class, is also encouraged for individuals with a high risk of developing a heart related condition.

Gadsden, Ala.–Faculty and students at Gadsden State Community College have worked hard this year to make the holiday season a little brighter for the less fortunate in our community. The Christmas Showcase, which is held every November in conjunction with the Miss Gadsden State Community College pageant, was the biggest fundraiser that was coordinated by the College and all proceeds from the event were donated to the Salvation Army. A silent and live auction brought in funds totaling $5,204 for the fifteenth annual event.
Gadsden, Ala. — The Gadsden State Community College Division of Health Sciences recently held its pinning ceremony for the Therapeutic Massage Program at Helderman Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus. Gunter, director of communications & governmental relations for the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE), was the featured speaker for the Gadsden State Community College Fall 2009 Commencement Ceremony. ACHE is the coordinating board for Alabama’s two-and four-year colleges and universities.
