AHS Students to Get A Glimpse of Their Future

Anniston High School students will get a glimpse of what their futures can entail as 40 seniors participate in a job shadowing event Wednesday, April 28, from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The event, coordinated by the Career Transitions Program at Gadsden State Community College, will give students an opportunity to “shadow” individuals who hold positions which interests them.

STUDENT PARTICIPATES IN RURAL PRE-MED INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Gadsden State Community College graduate, Jason Bolt of Alexandria, has been selected to participate in the Summer Rural Pre-Medical Internship Program under the direction of the UAB School of Medicine and the Huntsville Regional Medical Campus. Bolt, a biology major, attended classes at Gadsden State’s McClellan Center in Anniston.

STUDENTS INDUCTED INTO PHI THETA KAPPA

The Phi Theta Kappa Chapters of Gadsden State Community College recently held an Induction Ceremony at Wallace Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden. The three chapters are Beta Beta Eta (McClellan Center), Beta Delta Rho (Ayers Campus) and Rho Rho (Gadsden). Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society for two-year colleges. Students must have a 3.5 grade point average to join, and maintain a 3.0 during their membership.

NATIONAL TECH HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION

The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at Gadsden State Community College has added 70 new members. The organization is a leader in providing recognition for excellence in career and technical education, creating significant occupational opportunities for America’s top workforce education students, access to an employment database maintained by the organization and letters of recommendation to gain employment, scholarships and college admission.
