New Class Option at Gadsden State: African American History

Gadsden State Community College will offer a new history class Fall Semester that will cover the African-American experience from the colonial era to the present day.  The emphasis will be balanced between local and national events engaging with local history and understanding how the events impact our daily lives and relations.

Scholarship Recipient Proves History Repeats Itself

Rebecca Russo dreamed of being a teacher perhaps in an elementary school but as fate would have it she found that following in her mother’s footsteps would lead her to another exciting and rewarding career.  Rebecca is enrolled in the Realtime Reporting Program at Gadsden State Community College—the only college in Alabama to offer this opportunity and one of two nationally recognized Realtime Reporting Programs in the state.

Students Build Go-Kart in Summer Program

Student’s participating in the summer continuing education program at the Ayers Campus of Gadsden State Community College are getting an opportunity to build a go-kart.  The goal of this program, which is being held at the Anniston High School Career Technology Center, is to learn teamwork while using multiple skills including math and critical thinking.
