Gadsden State Community College will offer a new history class Fall Semester that will cover the African-American experience from the colonial era to the present day. The emphasis will be balanced between local and national events engaging with local history and understanding how the events impact our daily lives and relations.
Rebecca Russo dreamed of being a teacher perhaps in an elementary school but as fate would have it she found that following in her mother’s footsteps would lead her to another exciting and rewarding career. Rebecca is enrolled in the Realtime Reporting Program at Gadsden State Community College—the only college in Alabama to offer this opportunity and one of two nationally recognized Realtime Reporting Programs in the state.
The Summer Commencement Ceremony for Gadsden State Community College will be held Thursday, August 7 at 6:00 p.m. at the Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center in Gadsden. Dr. Helen T. McAlpine will address the graduates during the ceremony. Dr. McAlpine is currently serving as the interim president of Gadsden State.
