Gadsden State Launches Blackboard Mobile Learn App
Gadsden State Community College announces the launch of Blackboard Mobile Learn, a free mobile application that brings interactive teaching and learning to mobile devices,
giving students access to their course information directly from their smartphones. With stylish, intuitive applications designed specifically for each mobile platform, students can check grades and assignments, view documents, create threaded discussion posts and comment on blogs and journals, upload content and view documents, and more. Instructors can also post announcements.
Students, educators, and staff can download the app at no charge through app stores. The app was developed by Blackboard Mobile, a division of education technology company Blackboard Inc. According to Kayvon Beykpour, Vice President of Blackboard Mobile, the company is making big investments to continue innovating and developing mobile learning tools.
Sara Brenizer, associate dean of eLearning at Gadsden State, said “We are very excited about the advantages Blackboard Mobile Learn brings to our students and faculty. Going mobile is one of the most powerful ways to enhance teaching and learning for everyone no matter where they are.”
Blackboard Mobile Learn is currently available in native applications for Android™, BlackBerry®, and HP webOS smartphones as well as the Apple® iPhone®, iPad® and iPod touch®. Students and educators can download the apps with no charge for this service in app stores.
