Powder Puff Football Coming to Gadsden State

Gadsden State Student Activities is sponsoring a Powder Puff Football Tournament Wednesday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Etowah Youth

Soccer Fields located on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden. Team roster deadline is Thursday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m., at which time a team captain meeting will be held in room 140 Inzer Hall. McClellan Bookworms

“Tuesday Topics” at McClellan Center

The Gadsden State Counseling and Advising Center in conjunction with the McClellan Center will host “Tuesday Topics” November 15 at 12:45 p.m. Sgt. Jon Garlick, Mental Health Officer for the Calhoun County Sheriff Department will present “Mental Health and Law Enforcement.” Garlick will discuss this continuing problem and how local law enforcement professionals deal with mentally ill inmates. The free seminar will be held in Room 1229 at the McClellan Center in Anniston.  All students, staff, and members of the community are invited to attend. Free Driver Safety Class for Veterans

Throughout November, AARP and the Gadsden State Community College East Alabama Highway Safety Office (Ayers Campus) will offer a free Driver Safety Class to all veterans and their spouses. Any veteran is eligible and welcome however, AARP Driver Safety Classes are designed for those aged 50 and over.  Emphasis is placed on those over age 55 when auto insurance discounts may take effect.  Some proof of veteran status must be provided at the time of the class. This may include a military ID card, DD214, or membership card from any veteran organization such as the American Legion or VFW.
