Gadsden State female students interested in competing for the Miss Gadsden State Community College Pageant crown are encouraged to submit an application by Monday, September 24 at 4:00 p.m. The Pageant is part of the
Miss America Organization, the world’s largest competitive scholarship program for young women and one of the nation’s leading achievement programs.
Miss Gadsden State is a fun and rewarding event—much more than a traditional beauty contest. Participants in this preliminary must perform a 90-second talent and perform choreographed numbers during the pageant. Contestants will also select a platform or cause for which they feel passionate about, and spend time supporting this cause. The judging categories include interview, on-stage question, talent, evening wear and lifestyle and fitness.
As Miss Gadsden State Community College 2013, the winner will fill an important role as a leader and an articulate communicator, representing the College during her year of service with pride throughout the community and at the Miss Alabama Pageant. She will also be a confident, attractive, and talented lady who is expected to be a role model for other young women. The winner will receive a two-semester scholarship to Gadsden State, and have an opportunity to win additional scholarships at the Miss Alabama Pageant next June.
The Miss Gadsden State Pageant will be held Friday, November 9 at Wallace Hall Performing Arts Center in Gadsden. Orientation for the contestants will be held September 26, at 2:00 p.m. in Wallace Hall.
