Gadsden State will offer AMSTI “Aiming Higher” Summer Institute for Professional Development workshops for high school math and science teachers in June. AMSTI Math Math teachers will have an opportunity to learn more about
Interactive Geometry June 10-13 in Gadsden and June 17-20 in Centre. The teachers will receive instructional classroom materials including K’NEX design kits, graphing calculators, and computer software. Two science sessions on “It Takes Heart: The Circulatory System” will be held June 10-13 and 17-20 in Gadsden. Science teachers will receive dissection kits, heart models, and dissection models AMSTI Science.
In addition to the instructional materials, teachers attending the workshops will receive $100 per day stipends. All sessions will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m. daily. Deadline to register is Wednesday, May 15. Registration is required and space is limited. Funding for these professional development workshops is provided 100% by the Mathematics and Science Partnership Grant, (AMSTI) Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative in a grant to Gadsden State.
