Gadsden, Ala.–It will not be long until the Christmas Holidays, and Gadsden State Community College will have one of the earliest celebrations, with the 15th annual Christmas Showcase scheduled for November19, at 6:00 p.m. at the Wallace Hall Auditorium on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden. There is no admission charge but donations are appreciated. All proceeds go to the Salvation Army to help the less fortunate with food, clothing and toys.
The Showcase traditionally kicks off the holiday season at Gadsden State. Entertainment onstage during the event will include Miss Gadsden State Community College, saxophonist Kevin Moore, the Gadsden State Ensemble and Southern Belles, talented singers including the Eura Brown Elementary School Chorus and the Emma Sansom Middle School Choir. It is a night of family-style entertainment guaranteed to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
One of the highlights of this event is browsing through the auction items which have been consistently unique over the years. Items in the past have included cars, trips, and popular sports memorabilia. There will be a vast number of items donated by area merchants and Gadsden State employees and students. This year’s showcase will have the live auction component and the feature item at this time is a Cadillac donated by Ronnie Watkins. The automobile is currently on display at Wallace Hall Auditorium. All other merchandise will be on display in the lobby of Wallace Hall beginning at 4:00 p.m. on November 19.
Since the program began in 1994, more than $46,000 has been donated to charitable organizations. For more information contact Dr. Judy Hill at (256) 549-8329 or email@example.com.
