 College Transfer Day Rescheduled for March 6

Gadsden State has rescheduled its College Transfer Day events to Thursday, March 6. The event previously scheduled for the Ayers and Wallace Drive campuses was postponed due to the inclement weather that swept through the state several weeks ago. The Ayers Campus session will be held from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. on the second floor of the Cheaha Center in Anniston.

The Wallace Drive session will be held in the Inzer Student Center Cafeteria from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Representatives from four-year colleges and universities will be present to answer questions and provide prospective students with information on scholarships, financial aid, and housing.  Blood Drives at GSCC in March

The Gadsden State Student Government Association is sponsoring several blood drives during the month of March.  The first drive will be held Tuesday, March 4 at Beck Field House on the Wallace Drive Campus from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Student Government Association is sponsoring a $25.00 giveaway to three donors at this first drive.  The second drive will be held Thursday, March 6 at the Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., and the final drive will be held Tuesday, March 11 at the Ayers Campus in Anniston from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  The blood supply is critically low in Alabama and surrounding states as a result of numerous drives being cancelled due to inclement weather.  Employment Opportunity Fair at Gadsden State Cherokee

The Office of Career Services at Gadsden State Community College will host an Employment Opportunity Fair Thursday, March 13 in the main lobby at Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.  This event is open to students, alumni and community members. New Student Registration for Free GED Classes

Registration for free GED classes at Gadsden State Community College will be held every 1st and 3rd Friday morning at 8:00 a.m.  (no late arrivals and registration should be completed by 12:30 p.m.)  Evening registration will be held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.  New students may register by coming to the 2nd floor of Brown Hall located on the East Broad Campus in Gadsden.  GED classes meet Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Evening classes will meet from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  GED classes are free, and are open to all adults 17 or older who have not finished high school. Those who are 16 or 17 years old must call 256-549-8698 prior to registration. Classes are designed to improve reading, writing, and math skills, and increase general knowledge in social studies and general science. Gadsden State Massage Clinics

Massage therapy clinics are being offered for spring semester at Helderman Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus of Gadsden State Community College.  Massages will be provided by students in the Therapeutic Massage Program at a cost of $25 an hour. Call 256-549-8326 in advance to schedule an appointment or leave a message with your contact information so that your appointment can be confirmed. Appointments may be scheduled for Thursday morning massages at 8:30, 10:00, and 11:30 a.m. Evening massages may be scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Gift certificates for hourly massages are also available.  For more information about the Therapeutic Massage Program or gift certificates please contact lnelson@gadsdenstate.edu.
