The Gadsden State Community College Public Relations Department continued its winning tradition by receiving an impressive total of 12 awards for the second consecutive year at the Alabama Community College System Public Relations Association (ACCSPRA) Annual Conference.
The conference which includes the two-year colleges from across the state, Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT), Alabama Technology Network (ATN) and Athens State University was recently held in Montgomery.
The awards included “Best of Show”, 7 Pyramid Awards (first place), 2 Awards of Achievement (second place) and 2 Awards of Merit (third place). The “Best of Show” award is chosen from all the first place winners and only two are given annually. Gadsden State was presented this award for Print, Photography and Other Categories. Pyramid awards were presented in the following categories: photography, annual/president’s report, news placement, brochure, flyer, online advertising and outdoor advertising. Awards of Achievement were presented for promotional videos (commercial) and athletics program. Awards of Merit were received for news placement and promotional advertising.
Public Relations Coordinator Kay Smith-Foster said, “Credit is due to the professional staff of our department and Venture Marketing for a fabulous job of managing our message and staying on target with our mission. ACCSPRA provides an opportunity for members in this professional organization to grow and benefit from sharing knowledge.”
