Gadsden State to host Mental Health Conference
Gadsden, Ala.—Gadsden State Community College’s Continuing Education Department and Division of Health Sciences is partnering with Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Alabama Area Health Education Centers to sponsor a Mental Health Conference from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 13 at Helderman Hall Auditorium on the Wallace Drive Campus.
The conference is designed to help communities by providing continuing professional education that meets identified needs and addresses Alabama’s major health concerns.
Seminar topics will range from the etiologies and treatments of psychosis to the legal system/mental health court. Speakers will include local and state officials, physicians, judges and health care workers.
Registration fee for the conference is $25 and lunch will be provided. Attendees will earn 7.2 continuing education units through the Alabama Board of Nursing and 6.0 Social Work CEUs.
