Free veterans workshops at Gadsden State
The Gadsden State Community College Veterans Upward Bound program will Tech Tuesday BYOD: Learn to use iPad/iPod Touch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Ayers Campus LRC and Beck Field House on the Wallace Drive Campus. Interested veterans should RSVP to 256-549-8204 to reserve a seat. A Computer Skills Workshop will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 19 at Beck Field House. The workshop will offer assistance with computer skills ranging from beginner to intermediate. Enrollment at Gadsden State or any other college or university is not mandatory in order to participate. The Office of Career Services at Gadsden State Community College will host an Employment Opportunity Fair from 9:00 a.m. to noon Oct. 19 at the Ayers Campus Pierce Cain Learning Resource Center in Anniston. GSCC Electrical Tech students sponsor coat drive
Community supporters, faculty, staff and students of Gadsden State Community College are encouraged to support area shelters and mission centers by donating new or mildly-used coats and jackets for children and adults. The annual drive is being sponsored by the Electrical Technology Department and will continue through Jan. 15, 2017. Items may be dropped off at the East Broad Campus’ Electrical Technology Department building or ATN-Gadsden/Bevill Center, Ayers Campus Electrical Technology Department (Tony Thrower), Valley Street Campus (Frances Hall) or Maintenance Building/Wallace Drive Campus (Kathy Kendrick). McClellan Bookworms to meet Oct. 28
The McClellan Bookworms will meet at 10 a.m. Oct. 28 to discuss the book The Unfortunate Importance of Beauty by Amanda Filipacchi.
