Register now for final summer mini session, fall semester
Those interested in registering for the Summer Mini III term at Gadsden State Community College can do so through July 7 with classes beginning July 6. Visit www.gadsdenstate.edu and click on the link to Self Service Banner on the left side of the page to begin the registration process. Cardinals hosting team, individual volleyball camps
The Gadsden State Athletic Department will host play dates and individual volleyball camps for varsity girls. Varsity play dates are scheduled for July 15 & 27 ($100 per team) and individual camps are scheduled for July 25-26 ($50.00 per player). Camp participants must contact Coach Angie Sanders at 256-390-3565 by July 1. Individual and team camps will meet at Gadsden State’s Beck Field House from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Varsity play dates will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants will need to provide medical release forms which can be obtained along with a registration form by visiting http://www.gadsdenstate.edu/college-life/documents/summercamp2016registrationform.pdf.
Free financial literacy, technology workshops for veterans at GSCC
The Gadsden State VUB program will host a free financial literacy workshop for veterans at 1 p.m. July 7 at the Ayers Campus. In addition, Tech Tuesday BYOD: Learn to use iPad/iPod Touch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 26 at the Ayers and Wallace Drive locations. Military veterans will receive assistance with computer skills ranging from beginner to intermediate and in learning to use the latest technology devices. Enrollment at Gadsden State or any other college or university is not mandatory in order to participate. The Office of Career Services at Gadsden State Community College will host an Employment Opportunity Fair from 9 to 11:30 a.m. July 13 at the McClellan Center Higher Education Consortium Building. GSCC offers ACT Prep Camp
The Gadsden State Community College Continuing Education Department will offer an ACT Prep Camp July 18-21. By taking advantage of the ACT Prep Camp, high school students will have an opportunity to prepare for the 2016-2017 testing dates which begin September 10. The class will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. each day in Ralls Hall on the East Broad Campus in Gadsden. The cost is $99.00 per student and due to limited space pre-registration is required. Summer massage clinics at GSCC on Tuesdays
Massage therapy appointments may be scheduled through summer semester for Tuesday mornings at 8:30 & 10 a.m. or 12:30, 2 & 3:30 p.m. for afternoon appointments. Massages will be provided by GSCC students in the Therapeutic Massage Program at Helderman Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus. The cost is $25 an hour. Call 256-549-8326 in advance to schedule an appointment or leave a message with your contact information so that your appointment can be confirmed. Gift certificates for hourly massages are also available. The Therapeutic Massage Program at Gadsden State is the only nationally accredited program in the state and in most of the southeast.
