Gadsden State Music Department scholarships available
The Gadsden State Community College Music Department will hold auditions for Show Band, Gadsden State Singers and A Cappella Choir at 11 a.m. on March 2, 9 and 16. Full- or half-tuition scholarships for Fall Semester 2017 are available to Alabama residents and are awarded upon a successful audition.
The Gadsden State Show Band, Singers and Choir perform numerous performances throughout the year and rehearsals are held 4 days each week. The Music Department offers a variety of music and vocal courses, including applied lessons. Students do not have to be music majors to be awarded a scholarship. Talented and dedicated students are encouraged to audition. Massage Therapy clinics at Gadsden State
Gadsden State’s Therapeutic Massage Program spring semester clinics are underway at Helderman Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus. Massages are provided by students and the clinic is open to community members at a cost of $25 an hour. Appointments may be scheduled for Monday through Thursday with morning appointments at 8:30 or 10 a.m. and afternoon appointments at 12 and 1:30 p.m. Please call 256-549-8326 in advance to schedule an appointment or leave a message with your contact information so that your appointment may be confirmed. Gift certificates for hourly massages are also available. Discounts are offered for current students, faculty and staff. Blood Drive at GSCC
The Gadsden State Community College Division of Health Sciences is sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 6. The drive will be held in Helderman Hall Nursing lab on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden. March is Red Cross Month, and the American Red Cross is encouraging people to donate blood or platelets. Veterans Upward Bound to hold workshops in March
The Gadsden State Community College Veterans Upward Bound program will host a Financial Literacy Workshop at 11 a.m. March 8 in the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center in Anniston. The workshop will help students to develop effective ways of budgeting, spending and taking control of their finances.
Tech Tuesday BYOD: Learn to use iPad/iPod Touch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 14 at Beck Field House on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden. This workshop is customized to offer assistance in using the latest technology devices.
Military veterans residing in Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, DeKalb, Etowah, Jefferson, Marshall, St. Clair or Talladega County are invited to take advantage of the free services offered through VUB—a TRiO program funded 100% by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Enrollment at Gadsden State or any other college or university is not mandatory in order to participate.

Summer, Fall 2017 registration begins March 17
Priority Online Registration at Gadsden State Community College for the 2017 Summer and Fall semesters begins at 8 a.m. March 17. Currently-enrolled students who have completed 24 semester hours at Gadsden State, and have a 2.0 GPA or higher qualify for priority registration. All other registration begins at 8 a.m. March 20 and continues through May 10. The Summer I term begins May 9 and Full Summer term begins May 31.

March Preview Days at Gadsden State
Gadsden State Community College will host three Preview Days in March to allow prospective students of all ages to take a tour and discover each of the technical and academic programs offered at Gadsden State.
Students can get a firsthand view of the Valley Street Campus from 8:30 a.m. to noon March 7. The Wallace Drive Campus sessions will be held at Browder Hall from 8:30 a.m. to noon March 8 and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 9 for students who cannot attend one of the daytime tours.
