Tabitha Carlson Bozeman is a former Gadsden State Community College student, and ultimately received her BA in English from Jacksonville State University, and her MA in English from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She teaches a range of classes from ENG 092 to Creative Writing, is co-founder of the Riverside Writers Group at GSCC, and is currently launching a new student-centric arts journal for GSCC. She has previously been published in the Birmingham Arts Journal and the Southern Women’s Review, and has been a featured poet at several literary gatherings in Gadsden, Birmingham, and the surrounding areas.
A member of ALADE (Alabama Association for Developmental Education), Ms. Bozeman is dedicated to helping students develop better written communication and analytical thinking skills to prepare them for a lifetime of learning and success in their careers, and is passionate about teaching her students how to express themselves clearly, and how to “connect the dots.” Using a range of classroom methods and activities from lecture to hands-on activities, her class atmosphere is laid back, but academically challenging.
Ms. Carlson Bozeman is a Gadsden native and lives in Rainbow City, AL with her husband and four children. During her 52 seconds of alone time each day, you can find her at home attempting to get a few pages read or posting on her blog.
