Who: The Zebrafish Husbandry Education Team. This team includes over 30 world experts in zebrafish husbandry, aquaculture education, laboratory animal care, and veterinary science.
What: Three full days of zebrafish husbandry experiences. Topics include: Water Quality, Live Feeds, Spawning, Larviculture, Systems Maintenance and Troubleshooting, and Colony Health Management. Small group instruction and experiences taught by experts using live fish.
Where: The Gadsden State Community College (GSCC) Aquaculture Education and Development Center in Gadsden, AL and The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), AL. The GSCC facility features a dedicated zebrafish training laboratory with stand-alone rack systems from Aquatic Enterprises Inc., Pentair Aquatic Ecosystems, Aquatic Solutions by Tecniplast, Aquaneering Inc., and Thoren Aquatic Systems, Inc. The UAB facility features a state of the art zebrafish facility housed within a world renowned biomedical research institution.
When: May 24 - 26, 2016. Please plan travel to Birmingham International Airport (BHM) on 23nd and plan the departure from (BHM) on 27th. Participants are responsible for travel to and from Birmingham International Airport (BHM) from origin. We will shuttle to and from BHM to hotel, workshop, dinners, and reception.
Why: This course is perfect for current husbandry technicians, new husbandry technicians, graduate students, post-docs, principal investigators, and veterinarians interested in working with zebrafish.
Cost: $1,226.00 Lodging cost is not included but a block of hotel rooms is reserved at a special rate for participants $79 per night at a Hampton Inn and Suites within 2 miles of the GSCC.
How to Pay: You can pay by check or purchase order.
Cost Covers: Zebrafish Workshop, shuttling, snacks, lunches, and dinners. The hotel will have continental breakfast.
