WHO WE ARE
The Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation (C.A.R.E.) Team is committed to improving Gadsden State Campus safety through a proactive, collaborative, and thoughtful approach to the prevention, identification, assessment, and intervention of situations that pose, or may reasonably pose, a threat to the safety and well-being of the campus community.
The purpose of the C.A.R.E. Team is to serve as the coordinating unit of a network of college and community resources, focused on prevention and early intervention in situations involving members experiencing distress or engaging in harmful or disruptive behaviors. The C.A.R.E. Team will develop intervention and support strategies, organize training, and offer case coordination. WHAT WE DO
The C.A.R.E. Team evaluates the referrals of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to keep Gadsden State a safe and enriching campus for all who live, study, and work here. Behaviors do not necessarily have to be law violations to be worrisome. In addition to illegal conduct such as threats, assault and harassment, the C.AR.E. Team may also evaluate changing circumstances or behaviors that may singularly or in combination generate concern. The C.A.R.E. Team evaluates all referrals seriously, though not all behaviors warrant further case management at that time.
The following information/areas are developed through the CARE committees:

DO YOUR PART
There are behaviors and circumstances that may indicate an increasing risk for violence, significant disruption to others, or that a person is in need of assistance. The significance of any one behavior is often difficult to determine. Therefore, the C.A.R.E. Team threat assessment process is designed to review the situation in context of all of the facts that can be known.
