Gadsden State to host Mental Health Conference
Gadsden State’s Continuing Education Department and Division of Health Sciences is partnering with Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Alabama Area Health Education Centers to sponsor a Mental Health Conference from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at Helderman Hall Auditorium on the Wallace Drive Campus.
The conference is designed to help communities by providing continuing professional education that meets identified needs and addresses Alabama’s major health concerns.
Conference topics include the prevention of Alzheimers, Medicaid, adventure based counseling, mental health first aid, synthetic drugs and the impact of school shooters and media violence on childhood brain development.
The fee for the conference is $25 for pre-registration or $35 at the door. Lunch is provided and attendees will be awarded 6 continuing education units.

The Office of Career Services at Gadsden State Community College will host its Fall Employment Fair from 9:00 a.m. to noon Oct. 17 at the Pierce Cain Learning Resource Center on the Ayers Campus in Anniston.
