Gadsden State offers ACT Prep Camps
Gadsden, Ala.—The Gadsden State Community College Continuing Education Department will offer three ACT Prep camps May 30-June 2, June 19-23 and July 17-21. By taking advantage of the ACT Prep Camp, high school students will have an opportunity to prepare for the 2017-2018 testing schedule which begins September 9.
Spring Semester 2017 President’s/Dean’s List

The Spring Semester 2017 President’s List at Gadsden State Community College was released by President Martha Lavender. Full-time students who earn a semester grade point average of 4.0 (with all A’s) and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of college-level work are named to the President’s List. They are:

Gadsden State’s Valley Street Campus to host Empowerment Camp

Educational, financial and career-focused activities are available to area students in grades 9-12 at the annual Empowerment Youth Summer Camp on the Valley Street Campus of Gadsden State Community College. The camp will be held June 7-8 at the area’s only recognized Historically Black College and University Campus (HBCU).

Gadsden State Community College students earned nine gold medals, six silver medals and eight bronze medals during the recent Alabama SkillsUSA Leadership Conference, Career Expo and State Championship held in Birmingham and at various locations around the state.
Technical students from the Ayers, East Broad and Valley Street campuses competed with more than 1,700 students in over 80 different categories including carpentry, precision machining, HVACR, automotive refinishing, automated manufacturing, job skill demonstration and cosmetology.

Students Inducted into college honor society

The Rho Rho Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Gadsden State Community College recently held its 2017 induction ceremony. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, is the largest honor society in higher education with 1,285 chapters on college campuses in all 50 of the United States and internationally. Students inducted are:

Outstanding Students Honored at Ceremony-Anniston

Gadsden State Community College recently held its 51st annual Honors Day events at the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center in Anniston and at the Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center in Gadsden. The programs spanned two days of recognizing student achievements and scholarship presentations. Over 150 students were honored and more than $1.3 million was awarded in scholarships.
