Summer, Fall 2017 registration underway at Gadsden State
Gadsden, Ala.--Registration continues at Gadsden State Community College for the 2017 Summer and Fall semesters. The Summer I term begins May 9; Full Summer and Summer II terms begin May 31.
Gadsden State music instructor to participate in prestigious workshop

Dr. Matthew Leder, a Gadsden State Community College music instructor, will participate in a national residential workshop in New Orleans this summer.
The workshop, “New Orleans: Music, Culture and Civil Rights,” is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities. It will take place July 10-14 at Tulane University.
Gadsden State Cardinal Foundation names Everyday Heroes

The Gadsden State Community College Cardinal Foundation sponsored the second annual Everyday Heroes Breakfast today at the One Stop Center on the East Broad Street Campus. They were presented awards by Dr. Martha Lavender, president of Gadsden State.

Gadsden State to honor five Everyday Heroes

The Gadsden State Community College Cardinal Foundation is hosting the second annual Everyday Heroes Breakfast at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the One Stop Center on the East Broad Street Campus. All media is invited to attend.
“We are honoring deserving heroes who have made a difference in the lives of others through volunteerism, bravery and selflessness as well as those who have bravely endured hardships or struggles,” said Brian Snell, president of the Cardinal Foundation Board of Directors.
Make the Connection with Safety at Gadsden State

As a part of National Community College Month, Gadsden State Community College is hosting two symposiums for the community, students, faculty and staff to “Make the Connection with Safety” from 9 to 10 a.m. April 18 at the Valley Street Campus Student Center and April 19 at the One Stop Center on the East Broad Campus.
Both symposiums are free and being sponsored by the Gadsden State Office of Safety & Security in conjunction with the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office.
Gadsden State, JSU to formalize Transfer Pathway Program partnership

Gadsden State students named to Who's Who

The 2017 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges will include the names of 73 students from Gadsden State Community College who have been selected as national outstanding campus leaders. Campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory have included the names of these students based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
Technical students honored by national society

The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at Gadsden State Community College has added 37 new members. The organization is a leader in providing recognition for excellence in career and technical education, creating significant occupational opportunities for America's top workforce education students, access to an employment database maintained by the organization and letters of recommendation to gain employment, scholarships and college admission.
Alabama's most profitable agricultural industry is the focus of an innovative partnership between Gadsden State Cherokee and Auburn University’s Department of Poultry Science, allowing students to pursue a degree and a career in poultry science. The poultry industry in Alabama generates more than $3.1 billion each year and accounts for more than 65 percent of the state’s annual farming revenues.
