Members of the Gadsden State Community College Cardinal Tennis Team – past and present – will meet on the courts of Gadsden Tennis Complex for the annual Alumni Tennis Tournament. Play begins at 9 a.m. Oct. 29.
“This is a reunion for our former players,” said Buster Stewart, coach of the Gadsden State tennis team. “It’s a time for us to have fun and reconnect, and it gives our current team an opportunity to play matches against former Cardinals.”

Four faculty and two staff members at Gadsden State Community College will be honored during an employee recognition program at 2 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Oxford Performing Arts Center.
“We are recognizing outstanding teachers both in and out of the classroom as well as exceptional members of our staff,” said Dr. Martha Lavender, president. “The awards show the commitment we have had Gadsden State to excellence in teaching and in service.”

The Alabama Technology Network at Gadsden State Community College is hosting a Manufacturing Day celebration from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7. Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers.
The celebration includes free training classes to take place at the Bevill Center on the East Broad campus. Companies are limited to three participants per class. Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and must be completed by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30.
Margin of Excellence winners recognized

Seven Margin of Excellence grants were awarded to members of Gadsden State Community College’s faculty and staff at a reception Sept. 29 at the One Stop Center on the East Broad Campus.
“The Margin of Excellence endowment program awards projects that significantly impact and benefit Gadsden State students,” said Dr. Martha Lavender, president. “Our Margin of Excellence Committee provided leadership and guidance in the selection of the projects that are being awarded grants ranging from $1,500 to almost $7,000.”
