Veterans Education Benefits
Veterans Affairs (VA) educational benefits are available to qualified veterans, veterans' dependents, National Guard members, and Reserve members. To receive VA educational benefits, the recipient must be enrolled in an approved program of study. Benefits differ according to the Chapter of VA educational benefits for which the student qualifies. Satisfactory Academic Progress
Satisfactory Academic Progress will be measured at the end of each semester of enrollment at Gadsden State Community College. Students are required under federal regulations to maintain certain standards of progress depending on the number of hours they have attempted in college. It is the student’s responsibility to read and understand all policies associated with financial aid funding.

Federal Work Study Program
The Federal Work Study (FWS) program is federally funded and available to qualified students who demonstrate financial need and are enrolled for classes the semester they are interested in working. Students are employed approximately 15 hours per week for at least minimum wage and are paid monthly. Funds for this program are limited, and a few FWS community service opportunities are available.

are partial to full tuition awards offered each year. Awards are based on academic achievement, rank in class, and academic competitions. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is recommended; and, if submitted, ACT scores are considered.
Distance Learning General Information
At Gadsden State, distance learning and learning technologies are managed by the Teaching & Learning Center.
In addition to the Financial Aid Programs, students may be able to obtain assistance in the form of scholarships granted on the basis of academic or technical achievement, participation in extracurricular and leadership activities, and exhibited talents of the fine arts or athletic ability.
