The Advanced College Enrollment Institute at Gadsden State Community College permits eligible high school students to dual enroll in college courses and high school classes. Students can even earn a high school diploma and college degree around the same time. Nathan Boatwright and Alyssa Winkles are two of those students.
“I knew the ACE Institute would help me further my education faster than most students my age,” said Winkles, 18. “I was so excited about going to Gadsden State and the ACE Institute gave me the opportunity to do that.”

New building fee to pay bond debt service at Gadsden State

Dr. Martha Lavender, president of Gadsden State Community College, said an approved tuition increase and new building fee will go into effect for the fall semester. The fee will assist in paying the bond debt service on $25 million that will be used for construction and renovation projects on three of its six campuses.
“The new special building fee was announced in March but we want to make sure all of our students and prospective students are aware of the change,” she said.

Gadsden State instructor earns NASA fellowship

A Gadsden State Community College instructor is participating in a project at one of the world’s most innovative research facilities in the country: NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. The prestigious laboratory implements programs in planetary exploration, earth science, space-based astronomy and technology development while applying its capabilities to technical and scientific problems of national significance.
