BIOLOGY 201 STUDY GUIDE - Chapter 1

     1.   You should know the meaning of the following:
           Anatomy, Physiology, Homeostasis, Metabolism, Anabolism,
           and  Catabolism.

     2.   You should know and understand the various levels organization.
           (Both their order from atom to organism as well as definition.)

     3.   You should be able to identify all organ systems when compared
            to their major organs and functions.

     4.   You should be able to identify all body cavities and regions
  (both  visually from Figure 1.9 and according to description).

     5.   You should be able to describe “anatomical position.”

     6.   You should know all relative positional terminology. (Pg 24)

     7.   You should be able to identify the various planes which section the body and sections which may be used to divide a structure.

     8.   You should be able to identify all abdominal quadrants and regions (both visually from Figure 1.23 and according to description).

    9.   You should be able to identify all specific body regions (both visually from Figure 1.24 and according to description).
