In 2001, Gadsden State Community College received a Community Outreach Partnership Center Federal Grant for $400,000 to serve East Gadsden residents. The COPC mission statement is noted below. Over the course of the last three years, the COPC grant has enabled GSCC to provide programs for economic development, community capacity building, beautification of the neighborhood, and healthy families. Through the COPC grant, hundreds of East Gadsden residents have benefited from this funding. The program office is located in Brown Hall on the East Broad Campus.
