The Machine Tool Technology Program at GSCC offers both a certificate and an Associate in Applied Science Degree. Machine Tool Technology prepares students for entry-level employment in various machining careers. Additional opportunities are available for intermediate and advanced training. Emphasis is placed in safety, math, measuring tools, and instruments, hand and bench tools, blueprint reading, lathe operations, milling operations, layout, grinding machine operations, and computer numerical control (CNC). The material set forth follows the National Standards as formulated by the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills establishes the performance standards.
