Financial Aid Programs

Take a look at the number of ways students can pay for college, including grants, scholarships, loans and other programs.

Federal and State Grant Programs

There are a number of federal and state programs available to assist in paying tuition, books and fees for eligible students, including the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Federal Work-Study Program and Alabama Student Assistance Grant Program.

College Financing Plan

The College Financing Plan is a consumer tool that Gadsden State Community College provides to notify students about their financial cost to attend. It is a standardized form that is designed to simplify the information that students receive about costs and financial aid.

Veterans Education Benefits

Veterans Affairs education benefits are available to qualified veterans, veterans’ dependents, National Guard members and Reserve members. To receive the benefits, the recipient must be enrolled in an approved program of study. Benefits differ according to the Chapter of VA educational benefits for which the student qualifies. For more information about benefits or to apply, visit the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website or call 1-888-442-4551. For issues regarding benefits, submit a complaint to the VA GI Bill Feedback System.

Scholarships

In addition to the Financial Aid programs, students may be able to obtain assistance in the form of scholarships granted based on academic or technical achievements, participation in extracurricular and leadership activities and exhibited talents of the fine arts or athletics. Scholarships are available to current Gadsden State students as well as graduating high school seniors.
