SUMMARY:Drop/Add schedule adjustment period: Refund Policy Begins: Full Ter
 m & Mini I
DESCRIPTION:Tuition Refunds\n\n\nStudents who&nbsp\;completely withdraw fro
m all classes&nbsp\;before the first official day of classes or during the
first three calendar weeks of classes will be refunded tuition and fees o
n the following basis:\n\n\nWithdrawal before the first official day of cl
asses:&nbsp\;100% refund of tuition\n\n\nWithdrawal during the first week
of classes: 75% refund of net tuition\n\n\nWithdrawal during the second we
ek of classes: 50% refund of net tuition\n\n\nWithdrawal during the third
week of classes: 25% refund of net tuition\n\n\nWithdrawal after the close
of the third week of classes: No refund\n\n\nThis refund policy applies t
o the sixteen-week semester. Refunds of tuition for terms shorter than six
teen weeks\, such as summer terms and mini-semesters\, will reflect a pror
ated week based on the number of days in the term.\n\n\nA student who drop
s one class before the official first day of classes or during the add/dro
p period while remaining registered for one or more other classes in that
semester/term will receive a full refund of tuition and fees for the dropp
ed class. No refund is due if a student withdraws from one class after the
add/drop period while remaining registered for one or more other classes.
\n\n\nThe&nbsp\;first official day of classes&nbsp\;is indicated on the Co
llege calendar as the day that classes begin for that semester. This day m
ay not be the first day on which all classes begin. The calendar also indi
 cates the&nbsp\;last day to add/drop. For calculating refunds\, a&nbsp\;we
ek&nbsp\;is defined as seven (7) calendar days.\n\n\nNet tuition is tuitio
n minus the administrative fee with the following exceptions:&nbsp\;\n\n\n
A student is due a refund for a&nbsp\;deleted&nbsp\;class(es).\n\n\nA stud
ent who is a&nbsp\;member of either the Alabama National Guard or the Rese
rves&nbsp\;and is called to active duty in a time of national crisis may b
e eligible for a refund.\n\n\nThe President has the authority to make exce
ptions to the refund policy in the event of the&nbsp\;death of a student o
r of a family member or other catastrophic event&nbsp\;requiring the stude
nt to leave the institution.\n\n\nFor more information about refunds\, stu
dents may contact a Gadsden State Business Office: East Broad Campus\, One
Stop Center\, telephone 256.549.8216\; Ayers Campus\, One Stop Center in
the Cheaha Center\, telephone 256.835.5440\; or Gadsden State Cherokee\, t
elephone 256.927.1800.\n\n\nFinancial aid recipients who completely withdr
aw are subject to Return of Title IV Funds Calculation as described in the
&ldquo\;Financial Aid&rdquo\; section of this catalog.\n\n\nA student wit
h refundable funds remaining in his/her student account after the final ad
d/drop day of a semester or summer term will have a refund issued to him/h
er in the amount of this balance.\n\n\nReturn of Tuition Assistance: Milit
ary Tuition Assistance (TA) is awarded to a student under the assumption t
hat the student will attend school for the entire period for which the ass
istance is awarded.&nbsp\; When a student withdraws\, the student may no l
onger be eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded. To c
omply with the new Department of Defense policy\, the College will return
any unearned TA funds on a prorated basis through at least the 60% portion
of the period for which the funds were provided. TA funds are earned prop
ortionally during an enrollment period\, with unearned funds returned base
d upon when a student stops attending.&nbsp\; These funds are returned to
the military Service branch.\n\n\nInstances when a Service member stops at
tending due to a military service obligation\, the College will work with
the affected Service member to identify solutions that will not result in
student debt for the returned portion.\n\n\nRoom and Board Refunds\n\n\nPe
r Alabama Community College System policy\, students who officially withdr
aw from the residence hall before the official first day of classes or dur
ing the first three weeks of the semester/term will receive any refund due
on the same basis as listed previously for complete withdrawals.\n\n\nWhe
n a student exits the residence hall\, he/she must complete an exit form.
A student must return his/her room key and leave the room in a satisfactor
y condition (free of damage). However\, (1) if the room needs cleaning\, a
cleaning fee will be charged\; (2) if the room needs painting\, $100.00 w
ill be charged\; and (3) if the key is not returned\, $75.00 will be charg
ed. In addition\, the student will be charged (4) $12.00 per night for fai
ling to vacate the room by the stated time (24 hours after the last day of
finals)\; (5) $12.00 per night for failing to remove personal belongings
from the room by the stated time\; and (6) $75.00 if a College official mu
st remove personal belongings from a student&rsquo\;s room. Personal belon
gings left at the College after 30 days are abandoned and considered the p
roperty of the College.&nbsp\;\n\n\nRefund checks are mailed to the addres
s on record in the Records Office. Tuition\, fees\, and fines owed by the
student are deducted from that student&#39\;s refund amount.\n\n\nCash pay
ments are refunded by check\n\n\nCredit card and debit card payments are r
efunded to&nbsp\;the corresponding card used for payment\n\n\nCheck paymen

SUMMARY:Last day to withdraw: Mini I
DESCRIPTION:Withdrawal Policy\n\n\nA student is responsible for knowing the
policies\, procedures\, and deadlines related to withdrawing from courses
or the College.&nbsp\;\n\n\nThe student is encouraged to inquire with the
Business Office and/or Financial Aid Office regarding the potential impac
t that withdrawing might have on their financial obligation to the College
  and financial aid eligibility.\n\n\nWithdrawal from a Course\n\n\nAfter t
he Add/Drop period\, a student may request to withdraw from a course by su
bmitting a&nbsp\;Withdrawal Form&nbsp\;and following proper withdrawal pro
cedures as established by the Admissions &amp\; Records Office. &nbsp\;Cou
rse withdraw forms must be submitted by the last day to withdraw published
in the&nbsp\;academic calendar. &nbsp\;It is the student&rsquo\;s respons
ibility to complete the withdrawal process. A student who does not submit
 a completed&nbsp\;withdrawal form&nbsp\;will receive a grade of &ldquo\;F.
&rdquo\;\n\n\nA grade of &ldquo\;W&rdquo\; will be assigned for the course
when a student withdraws prior to the last day to withdraw published in t
he&nbsp\;academic calendar. This grade will have no effect on the student&
rsquo\;s GPA.\n\n\nA student receiving financial aid should consider the i
mpact of their withdrawal on their financial aid status before withdrawing
  from a course.\n\n\nWithdrawal from College\n\n\nA student may initiate a
complete withdrawal request at any time during the term by submitting a&n
bsp\;Withdrawal Form&nbsp\;according to the instructions provided. The off
icial withdrawal date will be the date the online form is submitted by the
student. &nbsp\;It is the student&rsquo\;s responsibility to complete the
withdrawal process. A student who does not submit a completed&nbsp\;withd
rawal form&nbsp\;will receive a grade of &ldquo\;F&rdquo\; in all register
ed courses.\n\n\nA grade of &ldquo\;W&rdquo\; will be assigned as the fina
l grade if a student withdraws prior to the last day to withdraw published
in the&nbsp\;academic calendar. Thereafter\, the earned grade will be ass
igned.\n\n\nA student receiving financial aid should consider the impact o
f their withdrawal on their financial aid status before withdrawal from th
 e College.\n\n\nSpecial Considerations\n\n\nStudent Athletes and Health Sc
iences Students&nbsp\;&ndash\; The student must notify the appropriate dep
artment prior to withdrawing from any course. A Health Science student par
ticipating in clinical courses may receive a grade prior to the withdrawal
  date and\, thereby\, become ineligible for withdrawal.\n\n\nAdministrativ
e Withdrawal from a Course or the College\n\n\nThe College may drop or wit
hdraw a student from any course for the following reasons:\n\n\nFailure to
complete admissions requirements if allowed to register on a conditional
basis\n\n\nFailure to pay applicable tuition and fees\n\n\nDisciplinary ac

DESCRIPTION:Tuition Refunds\n\n\nStudents who&nbsp\;completely withdraw fro

s one class before the official first day of classes or during the add/dro
p period while remaining registered for one or more other classes in that
semester/term will receive a full refund of tuition and fees for the dropp

add/drop period while remaining registered for one or more other classes.
\n\n\nThe&nbsp\;first official day of classes&nbsp\;is indicated on the Co
llege calendar as the day that classes begin for that semester. This day m
ay not be the first day on which all classes begin. The calendar also indi

er in the amount of this balance.\n\n\nReturn of Tuition Assistance: Milit
ary Tuition Assistance (TA) is awarded to a student under the assumption t
hat the student will attend school for the entire period for which the ass
istance is awarded.&nbsp\; When a student withdraws\, the student may no l
onger be eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded. To c
omply with the new Department of Defense policy\, the College will return
