 The Gadsden State Community College Counseling and Advising Center is sponsoring a free seminar entitled “Child Abuse in Our Society,” October 5 at 12:45 pm in room 1229 at the McClellan Center in Anniston.

 FALL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FAIR

 The Office of Career Services at Gadsden State Community College will sponsor a Fall   Employment Opportunity Fair October 19 at the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center in Anniston from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.  All students and the general public are welcome to attend at no cost.  Please bring several copies of your current résumé and dress professionally.  Recruiters interested in registering for the event may contact Ms. Woody at 256-549-8635 or bwoody@gadsdenstate.edu.

 “Game On” at Gadsden State

 Gadsden State Community College’s cafeteria services provider, Sodexo, is sponsoring a Bring it on Skills Competition featuring four gaming events October 12 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.   Games include Bustin’ Backwards Bag Toss, Dead-eye Frisbee Fly, Paddle Pong and Up the Cups.   Descriptions of each competition and student sign-up sheets will be posted in the cafeteria prior to the event date.   In addition to the games, Gadsden State students can also participate in the mascot trivia contest and enjoy free popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy.  Alumni Association Fall Cookout

 The Gadsden State Alumni Association Annual Fall Cookout is scheduled for Thursday, October 7, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the East Broad Campus Auditorium in Gadsden. There will be free hot dogs, chips and soft drinks, with door prizes awarded.  All friends, supporters, retirees, employees and graduates of Gadsden State Community College are invited.  For more information call 256-439-6870.

 Are You Ready for A Football Jamboree?

 Gadsden State Community College Student Activities will hold a Flag Football Intramural Jamboree each Wednesday beginning October 13 through November 3 at 2 p.m. on the youth soccer fields located behind the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden.  Team rosters are due and a captain’s meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 6 at 2 p.m. in room 140, Inzer Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus.  Teams will be comprised of Gadsden State students, faculty or staff, and each team must have a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 players per roster.  Get your team together and get ready for some football.  For more information contact Amy Lacount at 256-439-6901 or alacount@gadsdenstate.edu.
