Gadsden State announces two-ceremony format for December commencement

Gadsden, Ala. — As Gadsden State Community College continues to grow, the College will introduce a two-ceremony format for its December commencement ceremonies, creating more space for graduates, families, and friends to celebrate this important milestone.

The ceremonies will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, at Richard Lindsey Arena on the Cherokee Campus, 801 Cedar Bluff Road in Centre.

The schedule is:
10 a.m. — Academic and Health Sciences programs
3 p.m. — Technical programs

The new format reflects continued growth at Gadsden State, including increased enrollment and strong participation in commencement. As more students reach graduation and more family members and friends join them in celebrating, the College is adapting its commencement format to provide the best possible experience for everyone attending.

Dividing commencement into two ceremonies will provide additional seating, make parking and arrival easier, and create a more comfortable experience for graduates and their guests.

Richard Lindsey Arena has long served as the home of Gadsden State’s commencement ceremonies. The two-ceremony format allows the College to continue that tradition at the Cherokee Campus while accommodating its growth and giving graduates and their guests more room to celebrate.

Gadsden State looks forward to recognizing its December graduates and celebrating their accomplishments alongside the family members, friends, faculty, and staff who have supported them along the way.
