Centre, Ala. – Gadsden State Community College’s Cherokee Campus is collecting food donations to help replenish the Family Care Center’s food pantry, which provides support to local families in need.

Students, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to participate by donating Hamburger Helper, macaroni and cheese, other boxed, non-perishable meals, and canned vegetables. Donations will be accepted through Nov. 19 in the lobby of Gadsden State Cherokee.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to organize this meaningful project to support families in our community,” said Marie Roberts, Gadsden State Cherokee’s library assistant and organizer of the food drive. “This effort allows us to provide assistance to families who may be struggling this holiday season.”

The Family Care Center provides food and essential resources to local families. Through the food drive, Gadsden State Cherokee hopes to help meet the needs of families experiencing hardship and bring a little extra joy to the holiday season.

“We’re committed to making a difference in our community, and this food drive is one way to show our support for those in need,” Roberts said. “With the help of our students, faculty, staff and the entire community, we hope to brighten the holidays for many families in our area.”

Community members are encouraged to drop off donations in the lobby of Gadsden State Cherokee through Nov. 19.
