Gadsden, Ala. – Gadsden State Community College and Drake State Community and Technical College are partnering to offer Entrepreneurship Fundamentals, a six-week non-credit course designed to give aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners the practical skills and tools needed to start, manage and grow a successful business.
The course begins Sept. 15 and will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Entrepreneurship Fundamentals combines foundational entrepreneurship concepts with hands-on business skills, guiding participants from developing and validating an idea to creating a plan for execution. The instructor-led course focuses on four key areas: financial management using QuickBooks, establishing a legal business structure, marketing and social media strategy, and developing a comprehensive business plan supported by basic pro forma financial projections.
Throughout the course, participants will gain practical experience in financial organization, business compliance, customer engagement and strategic planning. By the end of the six weeks, participants will have tangible tools and documents they can use to launch a new venture or further develop an existing business.
“We want participants to leave this course with more than just information. We want them to have practical tools they can immediately put to work,” said Baisha Woody, director of Skills Training and Continuing Education at Gadsden State. “Whether someone is starting with an idea or already operating a small business, this course will help them build a stronger foundation and take meaningful steps toward their goals.”
The course is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, current small business owners, side-hustle operators and individuals considering self-employment or a career transition. No prior business experience is required.
The cost to participate is $295.
