Gadsden State Music Department scholarships available
Gadsden, Ala.—Full- and half-tuition scholarships are available for participation with the Gadsden State A Cappella Choir, Singers and Show Band for Spring Semester 2020. Students don’t have to be music majors to participate. Scholarships are only available for Alabama residents upon completion of a successful audition. College Fair at Cherokee Arena
Centre, Ala.-- Gadsden State Community College students are invited to attend the Gadsden State Cherokee Transfer Fair from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 2 at the Cherokee Arena held in conjunction with the Cherokee County College Fair. Students will have an opportunity to meet with college representatives who will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on scholarships, financial aid, and housing. Gadsden State to host transfer scholarship workshops
Anniston/Gadsden, Ala.--Gadsden State is hosting two Student Success Workshops beginning at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Pierce Cain Learning Resource Center on the Ayers Campus in Anniston and Oct. 9 in Meadows Hall, Room 111 on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden. The workshops are designed to introduce students to details about scholarships available from multiple institutions and will learn to navigate the web to gain access to opportunities. Computer Training offered at Gadsden State
Gadsden, Ala.--Gadsden State Community College’s Skills Training Division is conducting computer training courses for those interested in professional development. Classes are available in Microsoft Word 2016 Beginning and Intermediate and Microsoft Excel 2016 Beginning and Intermediate. Class dates vary with the first of the classes beginning Oct. 7. Enrollment for each course is a minimum of 10. All classes are held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Office Careers Lab located in the Realtime Reporting Building on the East Broad Campus. Classes are open to all ages and the cost is $99 per class. A reference book is required for each class and must be purchased in advance.

Veterans Upward Bound workshops at Gadsden State
Gadsden/Anniston, Ala.—Gadsden State’s Veterans Upward Bound program will host a Computer Skills Workshop at 11 a.m. Oct. 8 at Beck Field House on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden . The workshop will offer assistance with computer skills ranging from beginner to intermediate. Tech Tuesday BYOD: Learn to use iPad/iPod Touch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center in Center and Beck Field House. This workshop is customized to offer assistance in using the latest technology devices. Please RSVP to 256-549-8204 to attend the workshops. Gadsden State to host Mental Health Conference
Gadsden, Ala.—Gadsden State’s Continuing Education Department and Division of Health Sciences is partnering with Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Alabama Area Health Education Centers to sponsor a Mental Health Conference from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 18 at Helderman Hall Auditorium on the Wallace Drive Campus. The conference fee is $25 for pre-registration or $35 at the door. Lunch is provided and CEUs are available for nurses, social workers, nursing home and assisted living administrators and licensed professional counselors. Gadsden State to host transfer fairs
Anniston/Gadsden, Ala.--Gadsden State is hosting two Transfer Fairs for students planning to transfer to a four-year university. Representatives from over 20 colleges will be available to speak with students about housing, scholarship opportunities and financial aid. The first Transfer Fair will be Oct. 22 at Beck Conference Center on the Wallace Drive Campus followed by the fair on Oct. 23 on the second floor of the Cain Learning Resource Center on the Ayers Campus. Both fairs will be from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Both workshops and fairs are free and are sponsored by Student Support Services and the Advisement Resource Center.
