Briefs: Swoop Sprint Cancelled/Virtual UAB Night/Scholarship Deadlines

Cardinal Foundation Swoop Sprint 5k cancelled

The Cardinal Foundation, a support organization of Gadsden State Community College, has cancelled the Swoop Sprint, a 5K race held to raise funds for student scholarships. The event was scheduled for 9 a.m. April 11 on the Wallace Drive Campus.

“Unfortunately, there is too much uncertainty at this time,” said Steve Hildebrant, president of the Cardinal Foundation Board of Directors. “Ultimately, our first responsibility is to conduct a run that is safe for our runners, volunteers and spectators. This year, that means we need to cancel the event.”
