​​​​​​​Gadsden State to host ribbon cutting for new science building

Gadsden, Ala. – Gadsden State Community College is hosting a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. Feb. 17 for the new science building constructed on the East Broad Campus. The public is invited to attend.

The new science building includes over 57,000 square feet. The building has 12 new classrooms, eight labs, 22 offices, a lecture hall and a conference room. The building can also be used as a tornado shelter for faculty, staff and students.

The construction project is one of three projects that are the result of a $25 million bond issue approved by the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees in March 2017. The other two projects including an addition to the Cheaha Center on the Ayers Campus and the renovation of Allen Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus. Ribbon cuttings for the Cheaha Center and Allen Hall were held Jan. 7.
