Gadsden State campuses closed Jan. 29 for convocation

Gadsden, Ala. — Gadsden State Community College offices on all campuses will be closed on Friday, Jan. 29 so faculty and staff members may attend Convocation. The virtual event is being held to recognize the beginning of the spring semester and to give employees the opportunity to attend professional and personal development seminars.


Gadsden State to host informational session about FAME program

Anniston, Ala. — Gadsden State Community College is hosting a FAME informational session at 6 p.m. Feb. 18. The event will be in person at the Advanced Manufacturing Center Auditorium on the Ayers Campus and streamed on Facebook Live via the East Alabama FAME page at www.facebook.com/GSCCFAME.  FAME-- Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education—is a partnership between Gadsden State and East AlabamaWorks. The apprentice-style training program leads to an Associate in Science in Industrial Automation Technology after five semesters of instruction that support advanced manufacturing technology. Spring Mini Term II registration continues at Gadsden State

Gadsden, Ala. — Online registration continues at Gadsden State Community College for the Spring mini term II through March 5 with classes beginning March 4.  Visit www.gadsdenstate.edu and click on the link to “OneACCS” at the top of the page to begin the registration process.  To be admitted, click on the “Admissions & Aid” tab. Gadsden State Continuing Education Program offers virtual photography class

Gadsden, Ala. — Gadsden State Community College’s Continuing Education Program is offering virtual introductory photography classes Feb. 9 and Feb. 16 with photographers Kasey Langley and Kenneth Smith Jr.  The two-evening virtual program will be conducted via Zoom from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will be able to ask questions and gain basic knowledge of a camera.  The class will cover the basics of most digital, up-to-date DSLR cameras, lighting and general information. Cost for the class is $50.  Once a student registers, a confirmation email with the Zoom link will be sent upon payment receipt. The registration form for the photography class can be found at www.gadsdenstate.edu/programs-of-study/continuing-education.cms.
