Gadsden State to host Mental Health Conference
 
Gadsden, Ala.—Gadsden State Community College’s Continuing Education Department and Division of Health Sciences is partnering with Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Alabama Area Health Education Centers to sponsor a Mental Health Conference from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 1 at Beck Conference Center on the Wallace Drive Campus. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

 The conference is designed to help communities by providing continuing professional education that meets identified needs and addresses Alabama’s major health concerns.  CEUs are available for nurses, social workers, nursing home and assisted living administrators, law enforcement and EMT/paramedics as well as one contact hour of Ethics for nurses and social workers.

Student success workshops at Gadsden State

Gadsden, Ala.-- Gadsden State Community College is hosting student success workshops entitled ”Everything You Need To Know About Transferring” for students planning to transfer to a four-year university. These workshops will be held at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center Auditorium and Oct. 6 in Meadows Library Room 111 on the Wallace Drive Campus. All students considering transferring are invited to attend and get information about transfer admissions, scholarships, financial aid, housing and more. Transfer Fair at Cherokee Arena

Gadsden, Ala. --  Gadsden State Community College is hosting a Transfer Fair from 9 to 11:30 a.m. October 7 at the Gadsden State Arena in conjunction with the Cherokee County College Fair for area high school students.  All students interested in transferring to a four-year college may attend to meet with college representatives from over 20 colleges and universities and get information on admissions, scholarships, financial aid, housing and more.  For more information, contact the Advisement Resource Center at 256-549-8271 or arc@gadsdenstate.edu


Fall 2021 mini term registration underway at Gadsden State

Gadsden, Ala.—Registration for fall mini term 2 is underway at Gadsden State Community College through Oct. 18. Gadsden State offering ACT Prep courses

Gadsden, Ala. – Gadsden State Community College’s Continuing Education Program is offering ACT Prep Courses covering four core subjects – English, reading, math and science.  Classes will meet at the Cardinal Tutoring Center located in the Inzer Student Engagement Center on the Wallace Drive Campus.

A Saturday session will meet from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 16 and include all four subjects. An evening session will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. Dec. 6-9 with a different core subject taught each evening.  Students can register for the session(s) of their choice. Registration cost is $99 for all four hours of instruction or $30 per evening class.  Once a student registers, a confirmation email will be sent containing instructions and items needed for the class.

Gadsden State offering Driver’s Education course

Gadsden, Ala. – Gadsden State Community College’s Continuing Education Program is offering a driver’s education course Oct. 2, 9 and 16.  The Oct. 2 class will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Joe Ford Center Room 202 on the East Broad Campus.  At that time, students will schedule their two-hour driving times for Oct. 9 and 16. EMS Continuing Education courses offered at Gadsden State

Gadsden, Ala. — Gadsden State Community College’s Continuing Education Department is partnering
