Gadsden State to introduce BOGO Scholarship for Chamber members

Gadsden, Ala. —  Gadsden State Community College is offering a substantial scholarship to members of three area Chambers of Commerce. Individual partnership announcements and signing events will be held this month. All media is invited to attend any of the events, where Gadsden State President Kathy Murphy will explain the innovative scholarship program and sign memorandums of understanding with each respective Chamber board chair.

The first signing event will take place at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 6, in the board room at The Chamber of Gadsden and Etowah County. Breakfast will be served. Please RSVP here.

The second signing event will be at 8 a.m. Friday, July 14, at the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce located at Gadsden State Cherokee. Breakfast will be served. Please RSVP here.

The final signing event will be at the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce. A reception will be held at 3 p.m. July 20. Please RSVP here.

Murphy will announce that members of each Chamber and their employees may be eligible for a Buy One Get One Free Scholarship. They may receive a free course for each paid course at Gadsden State during the Fall Semester. That’s a 50 percent tuition discount.

The student must provide proof of employment with a Chamber member, be in good academic standing at Gadsden State or any other previous higher learning institution and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Those who receive any other form of institutional aid are not eligible for the BOGO Scholarship. More information will be provided to media at the signing events.
