Gadsden State to play first baseball home game in over a decade

Gadsden, Ala. —  The Gadsden State Community College baseball team will take the field in its first home game since 2011. The Cardinals will play Snead State Community College at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 at the Gadsden City High School baseball field.

Dr. Kathy Murphy, president of Gadsden State, announced on April 18, 2022, that baseball and softball teams would once again be fielded at the College. The baseball and softball teams disbanded at Gadsden State in 2011 and 2016, respectively.

The baseball team is coached by Blake Lewis, who is also the athletic director at Gadsden State. He will be available for interviews following the game.
