Gadsden State to announce major renovation
Gadsden, Ala. — Dr. Kathy Murphy, president of Gadsden State Community College, will announce a major renovation of Wallace Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus. The announcement will take place at 3 p.m. April 29 in the Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center.
Wallace Hall consists of the Fine Arts Center and an academic wing, which was constructed in 1967. The academic wing will undergo interior and exterior renovations while the Fine Arts Center will have a new façade that will complement the academic wing. The project, which is almost $7.9 million, is being funded by a bond that was approved in November by the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees. The bond is also funding the construction of a new baseball/softball complex. Gadsden State broke ground on the complex April 2.
Dr. Kathy Murphy, president of Gadsden State, and Mario Gallardo, chair of the Fine Arts Division, will be available for interviews at the event.
